
VITA is a Success due to Volunteer!

During the months of January through April 2015, you could find Paige Campos in the business's computer lab, busily helping VITA participates through the hours of 5:30 to 9:00 pm. Why, you might ask? to help those who normally couldn't afford to hire a tax professional.
Paige Campos, now known as Paige Chapman (due to a recent marriage), was volunteering as an IRS certified Volunteer Income Tax Assistant during the 2015 tax season. She has successfully logged in over 40 hours of VITA work, and fully plans on volunteering during the 2016 tax season.
Paige chose to due VITA has her EDGE (Education Designed to Give Experience) project. Which allowed her to be able to share and reflect on why she chose to do VITA. Since she wanted to fully utilize her experience and assignment with EDGE, she chose to help with a project that would directly relate to her future career. It was very successful, and allowed her to better understand her profession, while allowing her to help the community by doing income taxes for those who didn't have the means or knowledge to get their taxes done.
